We strongly condemn the fascist comments of Prime Minister Robert Abela regarding the Judiciary and the Courts of our country.
Repubblika is gravely concerned by the comment on “political terrorism” in the justice sector made by the Prime Minister this morning. For us this is an attempt of intimidation and a threat to our country’s Courts. Repubblika will never accept this type of speech and behaviour.
Free, impartial and timely justice is a guarantee of our freedom. Without it, the country will become a jungle where the powerful crush the weak, where laws are not the same for everyone.
This speech is unacceptable in a democracy and in a country which is a member of the European Union.
While thanking those who serve with honesty in public life, we urge all those who have any responsibility in the Maltese State to resist speech and attitudes such as those of the Prime Minister this morning.
