The stories about filth, abuse and corruption in the story of our hospitals never stop.
Repubblika is shocked by the scandalous story published by The Times of Malta regarding a hidden agreement so that 30% of the dirty millions that Steward Health Care makes off the backs of Maltese patients pass to another company of businessman Shaukat Ali.
Repubblika is shocked that coincidentally as soon as the disgraced Prime Minister Joseph Muscat stepped down from office, he was appointed as consultant and paid thousands of euros by this company of Shaukat Ali.
Repubblika is disgusted that Prime Minister Robert Abela has not uttered a single word about this new scandal.
Last October the Court of Appeal declared that there was “collusion between Steward and senior officials of the Government or its agencies.” In other words the Government is not a victim of corruption but an agent that takes part in corruption.
The hospital scandal is essentially corruption in its worst form. Not only theft of all our money, but theft from care to our patients so that instead of care services, the dirty few fatten their pockets.
