Repubblika notes the resignation of the Attorney General Dr Peter Grech, that it has long been requesting. We believe it is in the public interest that the reasons for this resignation are published immediately and that his decisions and the operations of the Office should be reviewed. We augur that Dr Grech\u2019s replacement will be a person of integrity who will uphold the law above all else, and will not bend to any political will or partisan interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We also take the opportunity to renew our call for the publication of the resignation letter of ex-Prime Minister Dr Joseph Muscat, a letter that the President of the Republic Dr George Vella has withheld since, in his own words, it would \u201chave a \u00a0substantial adverse effect on the proper and efficient conduct of the operations of a public authority,\u201d with reference to the government.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
